Why Choose AmPay?

Over the past 25 years we have talked to more than one client who was frustrated and angry with the large national payroll companies. They found them impersonal, unresponsive and, worst of all, they were often charged hidden fees and IRS penalties from late or missed filings. We found the same to be true with a chain of restaurants our founder owned.

Because of the various payroll nightmares we've heard about (or tried to straighten out for our clients), AmPay Professional Payroll Services was launched. We have a roster of satisifed clients and, unlike the big national firms, we are responsive, friendly and available. Our goal is to save you time and money while providing you accurate payroll with exceptional customer service. We offer full-service, low-cost payroll preparation, payroll tax reporting and timely filing of federal, state and local payroll taxes.

Here are the three most common complaints about the big guys:

Horrendous Customer Service

Impersonal, hard-to-navigate phone sysems and long hold times once the proper sequence of numbers is punched in or spoken. Hold times as long as one hour have been reported and it is not uncommon for the big guys to promise a prompt return call and not call for days or weeks. The dreaded shuffle is one of the most common complaints. The call is answered and then the game starts ... person to person, department to department, the client repeating the same information over and over again to each new player in this game. With AmPay, we will know your name and what you need and we will handle it promptly, without sending you on a wild goose chase.

Hidden Charges

Giant payroll chains offer bundled services that often don’t fit a client’s needs, resulting in hidden or unnecessary charges, including expensive software upgrades. And when an explanation is sought, the shuffle begins and clients eventually throw in the towel. That's not the way a payroll service should work because one size does not fit all.

Haphazard or Missed IRS Filings

According to the IRS, at least 40 percent of small businesses pay an average penalty of $845 per year for late or incorrect filings and payments. Penalties for errors, omissions or late payroll tax filings can be very costly. All too often the big guys make these mistakes and then blame their clients or refuse to correct their mistakes when contacted. Why would they care? The business owner is legally responsible for any cases of misrepresentation or a failure to accurately report employment taxes to federal and state government agencies.
